Forensics and Consultations

In addition to general adult psychiatry, Dr. Bhatti has additional board-certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Forensic Psychiatry.

Columbia-trained, Dr. Bhatti is experienced in a multitude of forensic services, including both civil and criminal forensic psychiatry. She has worked in the state forensic hospital setting, a sex behavior clinic, and court clinics where she conducted competency to stand trial evaluations. She also has experience completing forensic evaluations for retention orders in individuals deemed Not Responsible By Reason of Mental Disease or Defect, working in maximum prison settings, and completing mental health evaluations for those seeking asylum. Dr. Bhatti is comfortable serving as a forensic expert/fact witness, and has provided court testimony multiple times.

She has additional experience in forensic evaluations involving the transgender and gender diverse/expansive population. This includes offering consultations, evaluations and clinical recommendations for individuals who identify as gender-diverse and are in institutionalized settings, like prisons, commitment centers, and hospitals.
